A softgel is made by combining gelatin, which has previously been prepared, with a liquid mixture poured into two extremely cold drums. As the drums roll continuously, the gelatin blend solidifies and rolls off as a solid sheet, but it splits into two pieces. Upon completion of both halves, each half will be cut to the appropriate size and shape by a process.
Softgels are placed into a cool drum, which rotates rapidly to ensure gelatin congeals. They will undergo further drying, which is composed of two steps:
